AREAS OF EXPERTISE Alex specialises exclusively in criminal law.
He has been instructed in a number of high profile cases and has developed a reputation as a skilled, dedicated, and successful advocate. He is of the view that by both prosecuting and defending, he has gained an enhanced understanding and appreciation of trial advocacy, to the advantage of his clients.
He is an experienced defence barrister. Defence work accounts for the majority of his practice. He has been instructed in the following areas: terrorism, violent crime, including attempted murder, false imprisonment, cases involving torture, sexual offences, including gun-point rape and offences committed by and against children, cases involving indecent images, firearms offences, robbery including gun-point robbery, and conspiracy to rob, drugs offences, including large scale production and importation, large scale financial crime.

He has had some notable successes in the Court of Appeal, most recently (March 09) having a sentence of 32 months reduced to 8 months on appeal, resulting in the immediate release of his client.
He is an experienced prosecutor (London grade 3), taking on a wide variety of work. He has prosecuted large-scale multi-handed cases as well as delicate cases involving public interest immunity.
