  AREAS OF EXPERTISE
Colin has developed a successful practice working in all areas of defence and prosecution. He is regularly instructed to represent police officers in the criminal courts, at police disciplinary hearings and at PAT level. His other work includes quasi-criminal matters where he has appeared for members of the Armed Forces at Courts Martial hearings and has defended applications made for Confiscation Orders, ASBOs, Football Banning Orders and Closure Orders.

Amongst his recent cases he has been led by a Q.C. when prosecuting a multi-handed murder case, led by a junior defending a large scale evasion excise duty and conducted the defence of a police inspector on his own in a police disciplinary tribunal following an investigation by the IPCC. He regularly defends alone in serious cases including section 18 grievous bodily harm allegations, violent disorders and fraudulent trading. He also prosecutes in similar matters and has recently conducted cases involving multi handed conspiracies to burgle and handle stolen goods and fraud in breach of trust.

Colin trains the Police Federation about the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2008 and in advocacy skills. He has been graded Level 3 by the CPS in London.
