AREAS OF EXPERTISE Broad criminal experience, particularly in defence work in the Crown Court and prosecuting for the Serious Fraud Office and HMRC.
BIOGRAPHY Farida became a tenant in chambers in 2006 following completion of pupillage. She is committed to developing a strong, balanced practice with particular emphasis on defending the interests of the most marginalised members of society in particular in relation to Anti-Social Behaviour Orders and defending those who suffer from mental health issues. Farida has a keen interest in the application of the law and as such is no stranger to involved legal argument sometimes surrounding rather obscure issues.
Farida’s work for the Serious Fraud Office has consolidated her understanding and experience of Prosecution work from the very early stages of an investigation through to charge and subsequent court proceedings. She has been required to absorb a vast amount of often very complex material and advise on legal matters pre-charge as well as being involved in the preparation and conduct of court hearings. The trial of Vidgeon and others is underway. Several related trials have been concluded.
