  AREAS OF EXPERTISE
General Criminal defence work in the Crown, Magistrates and Youth Court. Regularly prosecutes on behalf of Crown Prosecution Service and Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, primarily cases involving importation of class A drugs. Rebecca has been instructed on several occasions to advise upon disclosure in fraud matters for the Serious Fraud Office.

BIOGRAPHY
Rebecca was a pupil at V&B Chambers for first, second and third six before becoming a tenant. She undertakes a wide variety of criminal defence work including serious violent crime, harassment, burglary, drugs and public order offences. Rebecca has also been instructed in a number of road traffic matters both publicly and privately funded.

She has been instructed in a number of Crown Court matters from case management, trial through to sentence dealing with cases of witness intimidation, dangerous driving, robbery and fraud amongst others. Rebecca has also been instructed in contested confiscation hearings.

Rebecca has a keen interest and understanding of Youth Court matters and is experienced in dealing with grave crime arguments and multi-handed trials involving vulnerable defendants.

Rebecca has been instructed by the Serious Fraud Office to advise on disclosure in a multi-handed matter and appeared on behalf of the SFO at the Manchester Crown Court.

Grave Crime and dangerousness argument concerning a 14 year old charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

R v Flaherty – Coventry Magistrates Court
Careless Driving resulting in one fatality and serious injury involving contested expert evidence regarding speed, visibility and stopping distances.

PREVIOUS CAREER
