PERSONAL INTERESTS Ronnie currently lives in London with his family. He enjoys playing the guitar and frequently completes 10k runs and half-marathons for charity.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE Ronnie Bergenthal has developed an extensive practice both defending and prosecuting.
He has received a CPS Grade 3 and is often instructed to prosecute serious matters such as high-value drug cases and attempted murders. He is also regularly instructed by the Department of Work and Pensions for large benefit fraud cases.
As a defence advocate, he is frequently instructed as a leading junior and has defended a wide range of cases from simple ABH trials to complex fraudulent work permit cases and murders at the Old Bailey. He is known for his skill representing clients in proceeds of crime hearings. He has also has conducted Courts Marshall cases for the armed forces both in England and abroad.
CASES OF NOTE R v C – Prosecuting an attempted murder where the defendant was a member of a neo-nazi organisation. The defendant was convicted.
R v M – Client was accused of a brutal rape which was allegedly seen by an independent witness. The defendant was acquitted.
R v S – Client was on trial for allegedly creating fraudulent work permits worth several million pounds. The client was not a UK national and the case involved extensive liaison with the defendant’s solicitors in Pakistan. The defendant was acquitted.
R v V – Prosecuting a senior member of a prominent South London gang for firearms and drug offences. The defendant was convicted of all counts against him.
R v S – Client was accused of the murder of his step-sister. The defendant was acquitted on appeal.
ASSOCIATED WORK He is a registered pupil supervisor and a member of the mentoring scheme at Middle Temple.
