  AREAS OF EXPERTISE
Hector began practicing from Chambers in 2007 and has since been instructed in a broad range of criminal cases and courts from the Youth Court up to and including the High Court and Court of Appeal. His practice is predominantly defence based, although he prosecutes regularly for HMRC and also for other prosecuting agencies/private prosecutions. Amongst a large number of violence, dishonesty, sexual and other offences are included:

Organised crime
- large-scale exportation of stolen vehicles to Algeria;

- large-scale fraud involving false gold (>£300,000);

- large-scale people smuggling (operation Greensea);

Domestic burglaries and robberies;

Kidnap and s18 Grievous Bodily Harm
(R v Funmilola Ojajuni, referred to in the Times newspaper in conjunction with article “Girls accept gun running and rape as price of joining violent male gangs” 26/10/2009);

Production of indecent images (including levels 5 and 4);

Test case for offences relating to licensing requirements for “gaming machines” (R v Mark Bird, highly technical case being prosecuted for the first time and from the outset by a QC. Case won in Crown Court).

In addition to the above Hector has a good technical grounding coming from a scientific background. This has assisted in some of the above cases as well as Road Traffic Offences and computer related cases.
