  AREAS OF EXPERTISE
All areas of criminal defence work, including fraud, serious violent crime, robbery, possession with intent to supply, large-scale cannabis cultivation, conspiracies and public order offences, among others.

Prosecute on behalf of CPS (Grade 2), DWP, Royal Mail, Probation.

Regularly represent members of the Prison Officers Association at inquests held investigating deaths occurring in custody. Recently at Kingston-upon-Hull, Great Yarmouth and Wakefield Coroner’s Courts.

January - May 2009, Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court
Represented Tottenham Hotspur fan charged as part of Hampshire Police’s Operation Decorum in first case of indecent chanting to be brought to the courts. Following a Not Guilty plea and several hearings, the CPS discontinued shortly before trial. [More Info]

R –v- Abdul Salam, April 2009, Luton Crown Court
Represented care worker charged with sexual touching of one of his charges.

Inquest concerning death of Vicky Robinson at HMP New Hall, April 2008. Represented POA member facing criminal investigation.

DWP -v- Kay, February 2008, Crown Court at St Albans. Successful abuse argument re charging decision in light of limitation period.

R -v- Thorpe, June 2007, Crown Court at Hove. Forklift truck driver cleared of theft of £20k worth of mobile phones from Gatwick Airport following submission of no case to answer unusually at the close of the defence case.

R –v- Tully, March 2007, Crown Court at Dorchester. Acquitted of serious multi-handed assault alleged to have been committed inside HMP Dorchester.
