  AREAS OF EXPERTISE
Ben has experience in a broad range of criminal matters from defending in Crown Court trials to representing individuals before the Magistrates and Youth court. Ben has secured the acquittals of youths and adults charged with a wide range of offences from robbery to drugs possession.

Ben has acted for Respondents in Football Banning Order applications, applications for Closure Orders and has particular expertise in extradition matters.

Ben is also able, and well qualified, to advise and assist in the preparation of applications to the Criminal Cases Review Commission.

He has recently, alongside Andrew Lewis, prepared a petition to the Privy Council to appeal a Jamaican murder conviction and is happy to offer advice and assistance in such cases.

PREVIOUS CAREER
Ben was previously a Case Review Manager at the Criminal Cases Review Commission where he was responsible for investigations into numerous alleged miscarriages of justice.

Whilst at the CCRC Ben investigated convictions for murder, rape, serious violence and gained particular expertise in Shaken Baby Syndrome and covert police operations.

Ben's commitment to pro-bono work took him to Nashville, Tennessee where he campaigned against the death penalty, and to New York where he worked for Greenpeace.
